Introducing Katastrophic's RED DEER collection

Inspired by early Soviet Constructivist architecture and a line from Emily Dickinson's poem, A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest, Katastrophic's RED DEER collection debuts with 4 statement pieces which are the starting point for an ongoing line of work designed to spill across seasonal lines and outlast short lived trends.

All pieces are made from the finest quality and most environmentally friendly fabrics, including Texas grown organic cotton, micro modal from beech tree fibers, and faux fur of organic cotton and hemp. All fabrics are hand dyed in colors inspired by the Soviet Union and post-USSR eastern Europe. Several pieces include original prints created with imagery of Soviet Constructivist architecture, leaping deer, and a Russian translation of the title line from Emily Dickenson's poem, A Wounded Deer Leaps Highest.

All screen printed pieces are produced in special collaboration with Austin's Chaos Card Company, who prints with hand registration techniques and water based inks. Each of these printed pieces glows in the dark.

This initial mini collection is being produced in very limited quantities, and is available for sale through Katastrophic. Limited inventory will also be sold at a small number of holiday shows in Austin, Texas this fall and winter.
